This is one Rahman album which has 'that' feel - 'listen to it more and let it grow on you'. I am still confused on what to write. Can't gather words. Can't complete the full album. Can't move to other tracks without re-re-re-re listen one after another. [4 songs are already famous on TV/web, but I heard all for the first time, now- except Kun Faaya Kun !]

Phir se udd chala took me in the sky with its free-bird feel. Jo bhi main  is an anthem. Yeah yeah... yeah yeah yeah... Haven't imagined Mohit Chauhan in this mood - ever. Oh wait, that is true for Saadda Haq too. Ground breaking rock anthem it is. Earthy Katiyaan Karoon is extremely addictive from the word go. Harshdeep Kaur's voice is just perfect for bubbly naughty girl. The song takes a totally different turn while it concludes. Love love it.  Aaaand....Here comes the God himself singing divine Kun Faaya Kun. With Javed Ali and [fabulous] Mohit Chauhan, the song is indeed a journey to another world. 

Irshad Kamil shines throughout the songs. Man ! What words ! what words ! Can't get enough enough enough.. Can't move further. Will be back when I can listen to another part of the album and gather words. Original text here

Rahman For Yohan --- New Gautham And Vijay Movie

On Friday, when newspaper advertisements announcing the launch of 'Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru', a film which will bring together Vijay and Gautham Vasudev Menon, didn't feature the name of the music composer, we predicted that A R Rahman will join the team.

We got it right this time too, for it has now been officially announced that the Oscar-Grammy winner will compose music for the film, which will be produced by Gautham's Photon Kathaas.

And one more interesting detail has also emerged. Yesterday, a tagline in the advertisements said 'Mission One: New York'. Today, it was 'Mission Two: Paris', proving our other claim, that the film would be an adrenaline pumping action-thriller, which will be shot in different foreign locales.

Expectations are running high on the movie and Vijay fans are extremely thrilled that their favourite star is teaming up with Gautham Menon. The only thing that disappoints them is that they have to wait for more than a year to watch the film.

Rahman joins hands with Mick Jagger

Rahman’s global connections are truly going great guns. And this time it is with Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger, who has formed a new band, Super Heavy, in association with the Oscar-winning Indian composer.

Apart from Rahman, the band will also have singers Dave Stewart, Damian Marley and Joss Stone. If reports are to be believed, the newly formed group has already finished their record and shot for their first video.

Says Rahman, “18 months ago Dave Stewart, Mick Jagger, Damien Marley, Joss Stone and me experimented at a studio in Los Angeles, trying to write songs which had meaning..”

“We had a couple of more sessions after that trying to perfect every song that was written and presently we have around 16 to 18 songs and all the songs have a world sound by contributions from all of us.”

He added: “Dave's and Mick's incredible musicality and Joss' soul singing, Damien Marley's Jamaican influence and philosophies and me bringing musicality from my world. It's all too early to talk about this but I guess you guys should know something atleast.....”

Rahman, who also won two Grammies for his music in the Danny Boyle’s potboiler ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, had also collaborated with American music icon Michael Bolton for the latter’s new album releasing this June.

What Rockstar Got For Us

Director Imtiaz Ali and Oscar winner A.R. Rahman are first time working together in Ranbir Kapoor’s coming movie Rockstar.Producer Ronnie Screwwala’s movie Rockstar is still under production and almost 70 percent work is completed.
After the success of Rajneeti Ranbir Kapoor is now among the top actors of Bollywood and his next big movie is Rockstar, which will be released in July 2011. The exact date is still not final but director Imtiaz Ali is determined torelease this movie in July 2011.
Ranbir Kapoor and new comer Nargis Fakhri are playing the leading role in this movie. Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Jordan in Rockstar. Recently Ranbir Kapoor shoots many scenes of Rockstar in Prague. So far we are not sure about the story of movie but it will be light romantic movie. With legendary A.R.Rahman as music director and Imtiaz Ali as director this movie will be big hit of Ranbir Kapoor in year 2011.

AR Rahman's New Music Video with Dido coming Soon

A R Rahman ,Mozart of Madras has reportedly tied up with the international singing sensation Dido for a music video, which is expected to be shot soon.AR Rahman tweeted that he is going to world premier a new music video. “Hey Guys, watch out for the world premiere of my new music video…coming soon.."

Remember the Oscar-Grammy winner earlier worked with Dido for the soundtrack of Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours for the song If I Rise. This time, the two will do a concert together, it is said.

Also, Rahman, who is at present busy with an international album, will have Dido singing one of the numbers. "The two shares a good rapport and Rahman is impressed by her work," sources say.

In November 2010, Dido had posted a tweet “I was working with rahman on something else at his studio and he asked me if i’d like to collaborate on this (If I rise) song, for his 127 Hours soundtrack.”

Rahman, will soon join hands with his mentor Mani Ratnam for a yet-to-be-titled new movie. Most of the projects will be out only in 2012 only.. He commented that he is going to take a break in 2011, and only project currently he is committed is Imtiaz ALi's Ranbeer Kapoor starrer 'Rockstar', which may release mid-2011.

He also posted some pictures on his Facebook Profile ,one of which shows him near a helicopter,and other in a red dress with new year message..
